When I started Livingston Out Loud in 2005, I wanted it to combine satire with talk about our civic life. But I felt that one couldn’t be serious and satirical on the same site. I’ve changed my mind. LOL (the blog) is ready for your comments and musings (serious or otherwise) while retaining access to the original Web site's features, news briefs, letters to the editor, and horoscopes.
Ride along as we herd some sacred cows.
Well, not exactly the last issue, just the most recent of the 2005 series, the original LOL wave. The topics are still (perhaps regrettably) fresh. Read here about Livingston's animal-friendly environment, a city ordinance requiring county residents to pay to use town amenities, and other local madness. Volume 1: Issue 10 (October 13, 2005)
Read archived issues of LOL and find out all about the Bush plan to sell Yellowstone National Park to Disney, downtown Livingston's design makeover, the real estate market, Christo's artful wrapping of Livingston, our parking problems, the war between Montana and Maine, how to become a native Montanan ("laugh like a Lutheran, look like a cowboy"), and much more. The truth remains stranger than satire. LOL Archives
