We really do have moose in town

The “Western Exposure” image on the home page was my PhotoShop creation, but I’ve always hoped to see a moose in town. Today one came down the sidewalk in front of my house, and when my dogs barked at him from behind my fence, he headed over to my neighbor’s yard and ate the apples there. Working with the Livingston Fire and Police Departments, Montana Fish and Wildlife officers tranquilized this beautiful moose, loaded him into a horse trailer, and moved him back to the wilds. They were quite kind to the moose, I have to say. One Fish and Wildlife officer was gently stroking the moose’s neck after he was down and being prepped for the move to the trailer. Kudos to the F&W, LFD, and LPD folks for keeping the neighborhood safe while they worked, and for treating the moose with respect.

Don’t you love living here?
